Coming from a small village in Wales, Jamie-Lee Williams is honoured to have won the prestigious title of Miss Galaxy International. After working so hard in pageantry over the past six years, Jamie-Lee is thrilled to have achieved her ultimate goal of winning an international pageant and even more importantly that it is Galaxy International, as she believes it is such a reputable pageant system that really does open doors and give winners fantastic opportunities for their year ahead.

A BSc Psychology graduate, Jamie-Lee has much experience in working with and teaching autistic children having trained at a specialist school in London, where she learnt the specialist sign language, Makaton. These academic achievements have brought her many opportunities and she is most grateful for this. As well as this, Miss Williams also has an extensive background in commercial modelling having graced the covers of UK national magazines (for example ‘Take a Break’) and also modelling for a leading clothes line for celebrities in the UK (Forever Unique). Through winning Miss Galaxy International this has also led to Jamie-Lee being asked by Forever Unique to model for them in Paris, as well as becoming the face of a large UK swimwear brand ‘Sandstorm Boutique’.

Though, for Jamie-Lee it is not all about the sparkling crown and sash but the good you can do for others by supporting various charities in promoting their message or helping raising vital funds – this is what it is all about ‘beauty with a purpose’. She is actively involved with UK charity The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, having recently lost her grandfather to lung cancer and believes we can all make a difference. Jamie-Lee wishes to use her title to its advantage in helping the charity raise awareness of the damaging effects smoking can cause and the signs to look out for if someone suspects lung cancer – something she wished she had known before her grandfather was diagnosed. As well as The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, Miss Williams works alongside numerous cancer charities throughout the UK and also supports the NSPCC which is a UK charity to prevent child cruelty – she believes this is most important to give our next generation children the best start in life they can possibly have. She will continue to support these charities throughout her reign and many more. For Jamie-Lee, being actively involved in your local community is most important and gives many opportunities in meeting new people and help ‘spread the word’.

In her spare time, Jamie-Lee enjoys keeping fit and learning about nutrition as she believes being healthy makes you happy – it is all too easy to lose control with extreme diets and exercise that is why she aims to spread the word to younger girls about the importance of healthy eating and looking after yourself. She also enjoys spending time with her family, who she is most close to, as well as reading and going to the cinema to watch a good film.

Jamie-Lee is absolutely honoured to represent Galaxy Pageants and aims to use it to her advantage throughout the coming year in terms of charitable work as well as modelling assignments; this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that only lasts for the year so she aims to make the most of everything that comes her way. She would like to thank Maria and also the UK Galaxy Pageant team for giving her the chance to fulfill a long lived ambition and for all the help and support along the way. Lastly, Jamie-Lee would like to thank her family as without them she wouldn’t have come this far as they have supported her since she started in pageantry six years ago and have given her the go-ahead and guidance needed to excel herself.
